Nadiad, May 3 (UNI) Nadiad Municipality President Mahesh Desai today went on an indefinite strike in protest against incomplete work of storm water project in the city.

He said, ''The roads have been dug up for the past one year, yet the work has not progressed and is now at a standstill.'' Mr Desai, a BJP member has been blaming the State government for the delay.

He began a day-long hunger strike on Monday last with 18 councillors who were supporting him in his cause at Santram Mandir.

The next day, he decided to continue continued with the strike.

However, today he announced that he was on an indefinite strike.

Sources said Mr Desai's action was connected to internal wrangling in the BJP and ''it is a tug of war with the Nadiad MLA Pankaj Desai'', who described Mahesh Desai's hunger strike ''a drama''.
