MP Govt failed to protect minorities

Bhopal, May 3: A Muslim organisation has alleged that the BJP Government in Madhya Pradesh has failed to provide protection to minorities.

A 'dharna' was staged by the All India Mew Development Council (AIMDC) here yesterday in this regard.

AIMDC Chairman and Congress member Mohammed Salim said Hindu outfits in the state were harassing minorities. However, police administration were not taking action against them.

He warned that the minorities would come down on streets if atrocities against them were not stopped.

Mew leader Maulana Jamaluddin Qasmi asked the minorities in the state to not feel unprotected, as minorities from all over the country were with them.

He said the issue of welfare of minorities would be raised in the national capital as well.
