More rains predicted in next 24 hours
Chennai, May 3 (UNI) Sudden downpour in some parts of the city brought a brief respite for Chennaiites from the scorching sun this morning, which was decreased in mercury levels.
According to Met officials here, the rains were a result of upper air trough over the region.
Officials also predicted that due to this air trough, the city and its surroundings would experience more showers in the next 24 hours.
In the last 24 hours, Katumannar Koil received a maximum of five cms of rainfall followed by Sulagiri and Senthamangalam with four cms each and Cuddalore, Srimushnam Thiruvidaimardhur, Oothangarai and Coimbatore airport with three each.
