New Delhi, May 3 (UNI) The new Chairman of the Standing Committee of the MCD today said the new BJP establishment in the today would strive to give Delhiites complete relief from sealing, including speeding up efforts to deseal premises wrongly sealed under the srive to seal commercial units.

Vijender Gupta, who today took over as the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the MCD, has also called a special meeting of the Committee tomorrow where several areas in Delhi, in addition to the over 2500 already notified, would be notified as mixed use or commercial streets in a bid to give relief to Delhiites from sealing.

Immediately after being declared elected as the Chairman of the Standing Committee, as he was the only one who had filed his nomination for the post, Mr Gupta said that the topmost among his priorities would be to give relief to people from sealing.

''Foremost in our line of priorities would be to ensure that shops of people whose premises had been wrongly sealed be desealed. To speed up the process of desealing of such shops we have set up two committees - one at the zonal level and the other at the headquarters level - to look into these cases,'' Mr Gupta said.

The meeting also saw Yogender Chandolia of the BJP being unanimously elected as Deputy Chairman of the Standing committee as he was the sole nominee for the post.

Noting that those whose had put in their applications for desealing before the MCD had been making rounds of the MCD offices for the last six months, Mr Gupta said,''those whose premises have been sealed are entitled to have them desealed.

Henceforth, all such cases will go to the zonal committee headed by the DC of that zone which will, after the survey of the unit, forward the application within two days to the headquarters committee, headed by Additional Commissioner, which in turn, will send the case to the monitoring committee within two days.

''All such applications will have to be forwarded to the monitoring committee for action within four days of it being received otherwise the officials concerned will be answerable to the Standing Committee,''Gupta said.

He expressed the hope that the new system would bring relief to the maximum number of people in Delhi in the minimum time.

Mr Gupta said tomorrow's meeting of the Standing Committee would also take a decision on the amnesty scheme providing for one time relief to misusers from sealing.
