Maoists set ablaze vehicle
Jamshedpur, May 3 (UNI) CPI (Maoist) rebels set ablaze a car at Karaduba village near Ghatshila in East Singhbhum district, police said.
About ten Maoists, including two women, seized the vehicle which was reportedly used during the Nagarik Suraksha Samity (NSS)'s meeting on April 8 at Baghuria village where JMM MP Sunil Mahto was gunned down on March 4.
All five people, including the driver of the car, were beaten up and the vehicle was then set ablaze by the Ultras on April 30 night, according to a delayed police report.
The naxalites also put up posters in which they threatened the police of dire consequences against those who help the NSS, a village committee to counter the naxalite menace.
Meanwhile, NSS president Shankar Chandra Hembram condemned the act of the naxalites and said the Ultras were now harrasing the common people. He denied that the car was used by his organisation during the meeting.
