Mah cabinet sanctions new posts for technical edu directorate

Mumbai, May 3 (UNI) Maharashtra Government has sanctioned 301 teachers posts for the Technical Education directorate.

The decision was taken during the weekly cabinet meeting here today, an official release here said.

There will be 34 appointments made in the pay scale of Rs 12,000-Rs 18,300 and more for teaching staff in various subjects.

The remaining appointments will be in the lesser payscale. The decision was neccessitated because of introduction of new syllabus and subjects, the release added.

Similarly, the cabinet also decided to amend the prohibition of dangerous activities act. The amendment extends the time limit for magistrates and police commissioners for making preventive arrests from three months to six months. The cabinet has also sanctioned one post of member of industrial court at Wardha and one post of judge at Labour court in Nanded.

Besides this, career guidance office will be opened at Latur for the newly created Latur educational division which consists of districts like Latur, Osmanabad and Nanded.

The cabinet has also decided to do away with the management grant of rs 500 per hectare for water usage societies. Instead, the government will provide funds to the societies from the recovery of irrigation water charges. Large projects will get 80 per cent and medium will get 75 per cent.
