India to get Rs 17,000 crore from Japan
Jaipur, May 3 (UNI) Japan will provide development aid of Rs 17,000 crore to India during 2007, Mr Toshitsugu Uesawa, Minister in Embassy of Japan said here.
Speaking at a function marking the signing of an MoU for setting up of Honda Siel Cars India Ltd's (HSCI) manufacturing plant in Alwar district, Mr Uesawa said his country was willing to strengthen its industrial and business partnership with India which had now been emerging as a fast growing economy in the world.
Mr Uesawa said during Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh's visit to Japan, both the countries had agreed to strengthen their business partnership.
Accordingly, the year 2007 had been observed as Japan India Friendship year, he added.
