IG,prisons asked to file reply

Patna, May 03 (UNI) Patna High Court today directed the Inspector General(IG) of prisons, Bihar, to file a counter affidavit in reply to a writ petition filed by the incarcerated RJD MP Mohammad Shahabuddin.

Justice S K Sharma had passed the order to file the reply within ten days, after hearing the counsel of the petitioner.

The counsel of Mr Shahabuddin contended that despite issuance of production warrant in December, 2006, his client was not produced before the Muzaffarpur court in a case of impersonation in law examination of 2005.

Mr Shahabuddin is currently lodged in Siwan jail in connection with several criminal charges.
