Huawei to pump in $100 million in Indian facility

Bangalore, May 3: Telecom major Huawei Technologies India (HTIPL) has decided to invest an additional 100 million US Dollar over the next few years to scale up its operations in the country.

The Chinese telecom giant had recently increased its manpower to 1,300 Indian engineers in its largest overseas development centre based in the city and this would go up further to 2,000, the company said in a release here today.

It said HTIPL was focused on providing end-to-end delivery solutions and increasing the number of components under its ownership.

The components delivered by HTIPL had been deployed for a number of customers including BT, Vodafone, China Mobile and others. They had been widely used by several product lines of Huawai worldwide, like datacom, application and software, wireless and core network.

The Indian facility was engaged in full life cycle product development of cutting edge telecom network solutions in the areas such as Next Generation Network, Telecom Middleware, Network Management, Operations support systems and Intelligent network.

HTIPL had filed over 200 patients, the update said.
