Govt has not yet finalised merger of telecom PSUs
New Delhi, May 3: The Government today said that it had not yet finalised the merger of state-run telecom companies BSNL and MTNL as they were currently involved in making careful analysis of the cost involved after the restructuring.
The government was examining several options (including merger) for restructuring MTNL and BSNL, Minister of State for Communications Shakeel Ahmad said in a written reply to the Rajya Sabha.
He said many complex issues relating to Human Resources, differential wage structure in the two PSUs, stamp duty implications etc were involved in this exercise, the Minister said.
