Government has not yet finalised merger of telecom PSUs

New Delhi, May 3 (UNI) The Government today said that it has not yet finalised the merger of state-run telecom companies BSNL and MTNL as they are currently involved in making careful analysis of the cost involved after the restructuring.

The government is examining several options (including merger) for restructuring MTNL and BSNL, Minister of State for Communications Shakeel Ahmad said in a written reply to the Rajya Sabha.

He said many complex issues relating to Human Resources, differential wage structure in the two PSUs, stamp duty implications etc are involved in this excerisise, the Minister said.
