Firing close to Prime Minister's House, one hurt

New Delhi, May 3: Panic spread in the high security Race Course Road area, close to Prime Minister's House, after one person was injured in firing outside the Jaipur Polo Ground.

Senior police officials rushed to the spot after the firing was reported outside the Jaipur Polo Ground, which is a stone's throw away from the high security Prime Minister's House, at about 1500 hrs, according to sources.

The injured person, Kishori Lal, hit by a single bullet on the left side of his chest, was rushed to the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital for treatment, according to a police official.

Sources said he was a resident of Dwarka in South-West Delhi.

A Zen car has been found at the 'site' in which a pistol and some cash was lying, said the police, adding that personal enmity was the probable reason.

Eyewitnesses said the firing took place from a white colour Zen car.
