DYFI All India Conference from May 8
Chennai, May 3 (UNI) The four-day-long All India conference of the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) will be held here from May eight with the theme ''Strengthen India's Future; Invest in Youth''.
DYFI's All India President K N Balagopal and Conference Reception Committee Secretary S Kannan told newspersons here today that the conference would commence with a mammoth rally on May seven and the opening session would be addressed by West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee and Senior CPI(M) leader Sitaram Yechury.
Over one lakh DYFI activists were expected to attend the rally.
They said discussions would be held on social issues.
Even after 60 years of Independence, the youth of the country were yet to get education and jobs even in the era of liberalisation, they added.
The delegates session would be inaugurated on May eight by Malayalam actor Mamooty and would last til May 11. Delegates from Cuba, France, Greece, Portugal, Palestine, Lebanon, Nepal, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Burma were expected to participate in the Conference.
