Shimla, May 3 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) today said that the party will release its manifesto on May seven for the ensuing Shimla Municipal Corporation elections that are due on May 23.

Addressing a press conference here today, party spokesman Kuldeep Singh Rathore said draft manifesto has been formulated by the manifesto committee headed by Revenue Minister Sat Mahajan and it would be finalized after discussions with Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and HPCC president Viplove Thakur.

''We will approach the people with our future plans for the town besides informing them about the promises that have been fulfilled by the party,'' he said.

He said the slogan for Congress during the MC elections would be ''development process to continue''.

People have faith in the policies and programmes of the party and would therefore always remain in majority in Shimla corporation, he said.

The party spokesman said a meeting of the frontal organizations was held today to ensure proper coordination between the parent party and them.

All the frontal organizations have been assigned election duties and have been directed to constitute committees at ward levels to work efficiently, he said.

Referring to possible rebel candidates against official party candidates, Mr Rathore said disciplinary action would be taken against such party activists.

Speaking on forthcoming Harmirpur Lok Sabha by polls, he said senior BJP leaders were not contesting elections fearing their defeat.
