Children take streets to protset Nandigram violence

Barasat, May 3 (UNI) Over 100 children today paraded the streets of this district headquarters to protest unabeted violence, killings, rape and torture on girls and children in Nandigram.

They also submitted a memorandum to the District Magistrate of 24-Parganas P K Mishra.

The children's march was organised by KOMSOMOL, an NGO for small boys and girls.

The memorandum demanded adequate compensation to the families of the victims and security for villagers in Nandigram.

They also demanded punishment to the policemen and their associated miscreants, who had attacked the villagers on April 14 last.
