CBI asked to probe 1999 kidnapping case

Vadodara, May 3 (UNI) The Gujarat government today handed over a 1999 kidnapping case of a girl to the CBI.

Nita, daughter of a watchman Kanabhai Ranchodbhai Parmar, was kidnapped by two persons on September 30, 1999 when she was on her way to school. She was 16 years old then.

Kanabhai had appealed to the Chief Minister, Home Minister and other government authorities as the police had shown ''slackness'' in tracing the girl. Following his appeal, the state government handed over the case to the CBI today.
