Boy arrested over stabbing murder
LONDON, May 3 (Reuters) A teenage boy has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the fatal stabbing of a 40-year-old man in Nottingham, police said today.
The 16-year-old was held after he voluntarily went to the city's central police station with members of his family yesterday.
The victim, Timothy Peter Smith, was attacked in the city centre on Tuesday evening and died in hospital early the following morning despite emergency surgery.
A post-mortem found he died from a single stab wound to the chest.
Last year Nottingham was named in a survey as the most dangerous city in England and Wales, a claim rejected by politicians and police in the Midlands city as unfair and inaccurate.
