AI partners with Amedeus to provide e-ticketing facility
New Delhi, May 3 (UNI) Air India will now offer Amadeus-enabled e-ticketing service across all its domestic and international routes.
Globally, Amadeus has 188 airline partners distributing e-tickets.
AI's executive director for public relations S Venkat said having been e-ticketing-enabled, ticket processing and monitoring are made faster and more efficient.
''We're now able to make more of our content available to travel agencies. This gives our passengers the benefit of greater convenience, reduced costs and time savings.'' According to the International Air Transport Association (IATA), converting to e-ticketing will allow the airline industry to save up to an estimated three billion dollars a year.
Amadeus India is a leader in technology and distribution solutions for the travel and tourism industry with a quality benchmark of being an ISO 9000:2001 company. It has more than 19,500 terminal installations, 7,500 agencies online in 248 cities across the region.
AI operates about 170 flights a week carrying about five million passengers a year to 59 cities worldwide from various points in India. Its subsidiary AI Express operates 116 services a week to 10 destinations in the Gulf and southeast Asia.
