VC issued show-cause, power curtailed

Ranchi, May 2 (UNI) Jharkhand Governor and Chancellor Syed Sibtey Razi has issued show-cause notice to Sido-Kanho Unversity Vice Chancellor Dr P C Hembrom here today.

The Governor curtailed the power of the VC on the pretext of the latter's defiance of the chancellor's order and for committing other administrative irregularities.

According to Raj Bhavan sources here, the VC was given seven days to reply.

Mr Razi ordered curtailment of Dr Hembrom's administrative power whih stripped him off the authority to make new appointments and take decision on matters of promotions and transfers.

The financial limitations involved the furnishing of report every week to the chancellor's office and Rs 25,000 cap on the expenditure amount.
