Six killed as lory capsizes

Mysore, May 2 (UNI) Six persons, including four women, were killed and 45 others injured when Canter lorry loaded with people overturned near Channarayapatna in Hassan district about 110 km from here today.

Police said the incident occurred when the vehicle carrying more than 50 people returning to their village from a luncheon organised as part of a marriage ceremony. The moving lorry lost control dragged for some distance killing all the six on the spot.

Four among the injured were seriously injured. They were admitted to a hospital. The deceased were identified as Kempamma, Sarojamma Puttamma, Nanjamma, Deve Gowda and Nanje Gowda.
