Security at border police stations tightened

Vizianagaram, May 2 (UNI) The district police today intensified combing operations, deploying additional special forces in the Andhra-Orissa border areas and tightened security at all border police stations as part of its anti-naxal operations.

Police sources said police also released posters cautioning stringent action against those harbouring Maoists.

Police were carrying out vehicle checks and had intensified patrols. Utmost vigil had been maintained at naxal-infested areas, especially in Paravatipuram sub-division, a Maoist stronghold.

Security measures have been tightened in Mandasa, Palasa, Vajrapu Kottauru, Neliaputti, Bhamini and Pathapatnam mandals in Srikakulam district, police added.
