New Delhi/ Mumbai, May 2 (UNI) India's third largest telecom service provider Reliance Communications (RComm) today launched its 'Classic' range of handsets, with a price starting from Rs 777, eyeing to capture the entry-level mobile market.

The company introduced the Classic 202, 203 and 204 models at Rs 777, Rs 884 and Rs 888 respectively with no further payments or installments.

''RComm is the second largest marketing company for handsets in the country after Nokia. We sold about 12 million mobile phones last year, including three million Classic handsets,'' RComm President (Wireless Business) S P Shukla told newspersons here at a video conference from Mumbai.

Classic handsets in a range of 16 models -- four black and white and 12 coloured -- were earlier available at Rs 1,300 onwards. The coloured handsets are enabled with FM radio and video cameras and are priced between Rs 2,000 and Rs 2,500.

''Through our new Classic range of feature-rich handsets, we are confident of extending the benefits of mobility to an entirely new segment of population in metros, small cities as well as rural hinterland of India,'' he said.

The RComm-owned Classic brand of handsets come with a SIM card and are available in the CDMA platform only.

The company sells LG and Classic handsets at its Reliance World outlets pan-India.
