Rajasthan wilts under searing heat

Jaipur, May 2 (UNI) An intense heat wave and hot winds continue to keep Rajasthan sizzling although a slight cloud cover lowered temperatures today.

Ganganagar, at 44.8 degree Celsius, remained the hottest in the state today. However, the state capital recorded two degrees fall from yesterday at 41.8 degree Celsius.

Jaipur witnessed a few drops of rain in some places, raising hopes of residents. But the two minute shower further heated up the place and increased humidity too.

The weather office said the heat wave conditions were persisting across Rajasthan and duststorms are expected in some areas.

Kota and Jodhpur recorded 44 degrees Celsius, Bikaner 43.6, Barmer 43.8, Jaisalmer and Churu 43.4 and Ajmer 41 degrees Celsius.
