Ujjain, MP, May 2 (UNI) The District and Sessions Court today issued a contempt notice to Mr Himanshu Sabharwal, the son of Prof Harbhajan Singh Sabharwal who was killed at the local Madhav College on August 26 last year in violence that followed the postponement of a students' union poll.

Mr Himanshu's alleged rhetoric to media against the trial court and ignoring of summons earned him the notice that came in the wake of a contempt plea submitted by Advocate Yogesh Vyas in the court of Judge A K Sharma yesterday.

Mr Himanshu has been summoned on May 10. Meanwhile, his Counsel Kailash Nagar said, ''my client has not commented against the court whether in media or elsewhere. He could not appear earlier owing to ill-health. Earlier, Mr Himanshu submitted a petition in the Supreme Court urging the transfer of the case to any non-BJP-ruled state. In that plea he alleged that the prosecution was attempting to shield the accused.'' The state government had handed over the murder probe to the CID that named then ABVP state President Shashiranjan Singh Akela and five workers as accused.
