POK leader, Advani discuss Kashmir

New Delhi, May 2 (UNI) Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) leader Sardar Abdul Qayyum Khan today called on former Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani and discussed with him the situation on both sides of the Line of Control (LOC).

The meeting, which took place at Mr Advani's residence, was held in a cordial atmosphere and the two leaders had an exchange of dialogue with ''emotional warmth,'' officials said.

Sources said the two leaders discussed the latest situation on both sides of the LOC and the Indo-Pak peace process.

Sardar Qayyum Khan, who arrived here on April 23 for attending the two-day 'Intra Jammu and Kashmir Heart-to-Heart Talk', has ruled out independence for Kashmir describing it as ''wastage of time and mental luxury for some.'' The former 'President' and 'Prime Minister' of POK, also met Mr N N Vohra, the centre's interlocutor on Kashmir, and discussed the situation in the valley.

Last evening, the POK leader was conferred the 'Dogra Rattan Award'on behalf of Jammu and Kashmir Governor Lt Gen (Retd) S K Sinha for his contribution to peace and friendship between the peoples on the two sides of the LOC.
