PMK activists stage dharna protesting Dam construction
Kuppam, Andhra Pradesh, May 1 (UNI) Protesting against the construction of a dam across Palar river in Kuppam, 200 activists of the Pattali Makkal Katchi(PMK), led by founder S Ramadoss, today observed dharna at Puttur village on the Andhra-Tamil Nadu border.
The PMK activists shouted slogans against the proposed Dam construction, announced by the state Chief Minister Y S Rajashekara Reddy during the Prajapadam second phase programme at Punganur in Chittoor district recently.
As a precautionary measure, heavy police pickets were deployed at Ganeshpuram and surrounding villages in Kuppam mandal to prevent the entry of PMK activists in the state.
