Opposition youths condemn threat letters to MLAs
Aizawl, May 2 (UNI) The Co-ordination committee of youth wings of the state's three opposition parties- Congress, Mizoram People's Conference (MPC) and Zoram Nationalist Party (ZNP)- today strongly condemned threats to two opposition MLAs.
ZNP president R Lalzirliana and Congress MLA Lalduhoma have allegedly received threat letters from some individuals and parties having link with ultras. They had also accused the MNF government of having nexus with underground militants.
''If blood-shed continues in Mizoram and if Mizos kill Mizos again (like what had happened during the Mizoram insurgency period) the MNF government will be held responsible,'' a statement issued by the Co-ordination committee warned.
Lalzirliana and Lalduhoma, backed by other opposition MLAs, have alleged in the House that the Mizoram government had provided some underground outfits of the neighbouring states with arms and ammunition for the latter's support in elections in return.
