Naidu seeks all party consensus on reforms
New Delhi, May 2 (UNI) Senior BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu today said the NDA and the UPA should come together and evolve a broad consensus on infrastructure, population control and internal security in the larger national interest.
''We should discuss these issues threadbare and evolve a broad consensus, and follow the rules of the game,'' the former BJP President said here at the First Pramod Mahajan Conclave on Bipartisan Politics for Growth.
He said the Opposition should be treated as a political opponent and not as an enemy.
On ways to avoid frequent elections, he said a pre-election bipolar agreement should be struck.
Describing Mahajan, who was shot dead last year, as a great parliamentarian, Mr Naidu said he missed Mahajan in every respect.
''I feel handicapped in the party (by Mahajan's absence),'' Mr Naidu said.
