Nagaland: AR urges outfits to vacate Phek

Kohima, May 2: The Assam Rifles (AR) and other security forces have beefed up security in Phek in the district following the alleged entry of NSCN-IM cadres in the area.

The Inspector General of AR (North) Headquarters in a release here today appealed all the outfits to vacate the town and move into their camps.

The appeal was made in apprehension of any inter-factional clashes in the populated areas.

The release further stated that the NGOs, civil bodies and administration should also come forward and pressurise the outfits to vacate the town in order to maintain peace in the area.

The IGAR also pointed out that solution to any problem could be found only through the process of dialogue and reconciliation.
