MULTA, NDFB cadres among six held in Asom

Guwahati, May 2 (UNI) At least six militants were arrested by the Army in separate operations at various places in lower Asom since yesterday.

An Army source said a Muslim United Liberation Tigers Association (MULTA) cadre was arrested by troops of the 21 JAT Regiment at Dariduri in Bongaigaon today.

Three country made bombs, two weighing 650 gm and another 250 gm, were recovered from his possession.

Three associates of the ULFA were apprehended by the Army at Dhubri, Agamoni and Barpeta areas of lower Asom respectively. A .38 revolver was seized from one of them.

Another suspected militant was also arrested at Dhamdhama in Baska this morning.

Yesterday, an NDFB cadre was nabbed by the 4 SIKH LI Regiment near Goreswar in Baska district.
