Kumaraswamy assures smooth power transition in Karnataka
Bangalore, May 2 (UNI) Setting at rest reports of cracks in the Janata Dal(S)-Bharatiya Janata Party coalition in Karnataka, Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy today categorically confirmed a smooth transition of power to the BJP in October after his 20-month tenure ends.
Brushing aside the speculation about a rift between the coalition partners, the Chief Minister told newpersons here, ''Wait till October three. There is no need for any anxiety and I will stand by my word.'' THE JD(S)-BJP coalition government came to power in February last year after the JD(S in a swift move withdrew its support to the Dharam Singh led Congress-JD(S) coalition government in alliance with the BJP.
Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa of BJP, who had made a impromptu visit to New Delhi yesterday following reports that Congress was prepared to share power with JD(S) to dislodge the BJP, told newspersons today that the meeting of the Coordination Committee of the coalition partners would be held in a couple of days to iron out the differences.
