HP Governor, CM and ministers express grief over accident

Shimla, May 2 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Governor V S Kokje, Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and several of his cabinet ministers have expressed grief and sorrow over bus accident in Kotkhai area of Shimla district.

The Governor, in his condolence, said may God give strength to the bereaved families to bear this irreparable loss and wished speedy recovery of the injured.

In his message, the Chief Minister offered heartfelt condolences to the families who had lost their members in the accident.

He also ordered a magisteraial enquiry into the bus accident and announced relief of Rs 75,000 to the next of the kith of the kin the dead and Rs 15,000 each to the injured besides free medical treatment to the injured.

Power Minister Vidya Stokes, Irrigation and Public Health Minister Kaul Singh Thakur, Revenue Minister Sat Mahajan, Excise and Taxation Minister Rangila Ram Rao, Forest Minister Ram Lal Thakur, Agriculture Minister Raj Krishan Gaur, Industries Minister Kuldeep Kumar, Horticulture Minister Singhi Ram and Animal Husbandry Minister Harsh Mahajan, have also expressed grief over the bus accident.

Former state chief minister P K Dhumal has also expressed grief over the accident and said the government should inquire into the increasing incidents of road accidents in the state.

The condition of the vehicle and whether the bus driver was trained should also be inquired and efforts made to prevent the re-occurrence of such accidents in future, he added.
