HC seeks clarification on LG's order on demolition
New Delhi, May 2 (UNI) The Delhi High Court today asked the Delhi Government to state the reasons for passing a conflicting order by the Lt Governnor staying the demolitions of unauthorised structures in urban villages of the capital.
A division bench of Chief Justice M K Sarma and Justice Rekha Sharma asked the Delhi government to file an affidavit clarifying the order of the Lt Governor Tejinder Khanna promulgated on April 26.
''We want a clarification. The Lt Governor's order is in conflict with our order,'' said the bench when a court commissioner produced its copy.
''The Lt Governor's order is virtually staying our order pronounced in the Kalyansansthan vs MCD case directing the authorities to demolish the illegal structures,'' said the Judges asking the the Delhi Government to file its reply by next date of hearing on May 9.
