HC asks Chahal to submit clinical investigation record by May 9

Chandigarh, May 2(uni) The Punjab and Harayana High Court today directed former Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh's Media Advisor Bharat Inder Singh Chahal, now admitted to a hospital in glasgow, scotland, to submit by May 9 the record of clinical investigations which formed the basis for the medical certificate claiming heart ailment of blockade of arteries requiring surgery.

This was ordered by full bench, headed by Chief Justice Vijender Jain during resumed hearing on the contempt of court proceedings against Mr Chahal who left India soon after annoucement of results of the general elections to Punjab Vidhan Sabha and change of power in the state.

He is facing proceedings for attempt to interfere in the administration of justice by asking an officer of sports department not to produce the record pertaining to selection and appointment, including of his son Bikramjit Singh Chahal, of some persons directly as deputy superintendent of police(dsp) under sprots quota.

Advocate Anupam Gupta who is the court counsel in the case suggested attachment of Chahal's property to compel him to return to India as he might not return since his entirely family has reached Britain. He also called for seeking help of Indian High Commission in london in finding out facts about Mr Chahal,s illness.
