Pondy: Govt spells out sharing of rail line project

Puducherry, May 2: Leader of the opposition A M H Nazeem today urged Chief Minister N Rangasamy to make the government's stand clear in sharing the expenses of the Nagore-Karaikal railway line project with the Railways.

Making a special mention during zero hour in the assembly, Mr Nazeem said he had been raising the issue in the House, ever since the project began.

He said a meeting of the Southern Railway officials with the officials of Karaikal region and Parliament member Prof Ramadass was held in the region yesterday, in which the Railway officials said that a letter was sent to the government to share 50 per cent of the expenses as promised by the Chief Minister earlier. But no reply was received from the government side.

Mr Nazeem urged the Chief Minister to reply if the government had received the letter in order to take up the work soon.

However, no reply was given to the special mention from the government side.
