Patiala, May 2 (UNI) The Punjab Government today withdrew the CRPF security cover provided to former chief minister Amarinder Singh at his Moti Bagh private residence here.

Official sources said the state government has refused to pay the expenses of the CRPF deployed at the former chief minister's house.

Replacing the CRPF are personnel of the Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB) of the Punjab Police. The CRPF cover was withdrawn just before the arrival of Capt Singh to his home town.

Capt Singh had been provided a CRPF cover at his private residence here in 1999 when he was the state Congress chief.
