Coordination Committee to meet soon to iron out differences

Bangalore, May 2 (UNI) The Coordination Committee of the coalition partners, JD(S) and BJP, will meet within a couple of days to iron out differences, if any, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister and senior BJP leader B S Yediyurappa said today.

Reacting to former Prime Minister and JD(S) President H D Deve Gowda's statements, he told newspersons here that ''Mr Gowda has given a good suggestion that we (coalition partners) should follow 'Rajadharma' and not cross the Lakshman Rekha.'' ''We will not oppose his statement as he has made it for the good of both the parties and will sort out shortcomings, if any, at the Coordination Committee meeting, to be held in the next two days,'' he said, adding that he held a meeting with Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy today in this regard.

On the power sharing formula agreed upon by the coalition partners, Mr Yediyurappa said both the parties would run the Government for 20 months each and power transfer would take place according to the agreement and there was no confusion about it. ''I am 100 per cent sure of it,'' he added.

Stating that the party's Vikas Yatra was a BJP programme to revive the party, he said it would correct its mistakes, if any, occurred during the yatra. He blamed the Congress for creating confusion between the two partners.

Mr Yediyurappa, who also holds the Finance portfolio, said the loan waiver process had begun and the deadline for repayment of cooperative loans by farmers had been extended from April 30 to May 31. A concession of Rs 25,000 on interest accrued would be waived off for farmers who had availed any amount of loan if they make the repayment of all arrears before May 31, he added.

He said he would hold department-wise review meetings from tomorrow till the month-end in connection with the implementation of budget programmes.
