Tripura: Buddha Purnima celebrated

Agartala, May 02: Tripura today celebrated 'Buddha Purnima' with great religious fervour.

All the Buddhist temples in the state were decorated and illuminated since yesterday to mark the occasion.

Buddhists offered special obseiance at difffernt temples mainly in Kanchanpur, Sabroom in north and south districts and at the Benuban Bihar near here.

Huge crowds were seen at the Benuban Bihar here since morning.

All the markets here and other parts of the state went meatless as no animal was sacrificed. State government offices and other establishments remained closed as today was a holiday.
