AIADMK stages walkout in TN Assembly
Chennai, May 2 (UNI) The main Opposition AIADMK in the Tamil Nadu Assembly today staged a walkout after Speaker R Avudaiyappan declined permission to take up a breach of privilege motion against Chief Minister M Karunanidhi.
Soon after the House assembled for the day, Deputy Leader of the Opposition O Panneerselvam (AIADMK) sought to raise the issue.
However, the Speaker said the issue did not amount to breach of privilege, following which Mr Panneerselvam led his party members out of the House.
The AIADMK had given notice for a breach of privilege motion against Mr Karunanidhi for giving false information to the House that a resolution had been adopted at the all-party meeting, convened by the Government on April 15 on the Cauvery issue.
