WB allocates 30 cr for PMGSY

Srinagar, May 1 (UNI) The World Bank has released Rs 30 crore for execution of Prime Minister's Gram Sadak Yojana Scheme (PMGSY) in Baramulla district of North Kashmir, an official spokesman said.

He said, ''under the programme six schemes are being taken up for road connectivity in the district during the financial year.'' During phase 3rd, 4th and 5th of the programme, 31 schemes, having a road length of 157 kilometers, were taken up at a total cost of Rs 59.26 crore and the expenditure of Rs 5.45 crore has been incurred ending March last.

He also said ''Under phase 6th, ten new schemes would be taken up for execution with a road length of 60 kilometers at a cost of Rs 44.44 crore adding that efforts were on to complete the maximum number of schemes within six months.'' In Uri tehsil, he said, three major roads are being taken up during this year to provide better road connectivity to far flung areas at a total cost of Rs 30 crore.
