Three teenagers drowned in Kiphire river

Kohima, May 1 (UNI) Three teenaged boys met their watery grave in Zingki river in Kiphire district, bordering Myanmar, when they were swept away by a strong current on Saturday, according to a delayed report received today.

Police said altogether four boys had gone to the river to wash their clothes when the tragedy struck them. Of them, Alemba, however, managed to swim ashore.

They were from Longkhimong village and the survivor informed the villagers that Longriba, Shusemong and Napolean drowned in the river.

Their bodies had been fished out with the help of police and local people.
