Teachers take out morcha, demand to reopen schools from July 1

Akola, May 1 (UNI) A huge 'morcha' was taken out by various teachers, parents and students' organisations to the district collectorate here, demanding that the schools be re-opened from July 1 instead of June 15 as directed by Maharashtra Education Minister Vasant Purke.

The morcha, led by MLC Vasantrao Khotre, was taken out yesterday, in which hundreds of teachers and parents' organisations took part.

The agitators were protesting against Mr Purke's decision to open schools from June 15.

The protestors said the prevailing heat wave conditions and the soaring mercury were not suitable for the children to go to schools from June 15, as the hot climate continues till June 22.
