Stringent security in Vadodara to prevent communal flare up

Vadodara, May 1 (UNI) Even as the State is celebrating the foundation day, the police is leaving no stone unturned to maintain law and order here.

The district had witnessed large-scale communal violence on May 1 last year following the demolition of the Syed Rashiduddin Chishti dargah, believed to be about 385 years old, situated along the main road.

Five persons were killed in police firing and stabbing.

Fatehpura Panchanagar mohalla was the most affected due to violence.

The police have, therefore made thorough bandobast since 0500 hrs and will continue patrolling all sensitive areas continuously till midnight to prevent any communal flare up here.
