Sachin, Sourav and Ifran to advice U-17 boys?

Bangalore, May 1 (UNI) 'Rested' from the Bangaladesh tour, Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly should advice and share their experience with under-17 cricketers who began a 45 day training camp at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) here its Chairman Kaptil Dev said today.

Talking to newsmen here, he said players who were not included in Bangladesh tour could join the camp and share their experience. At the same time, it would also help them have continuous practice, he added.

"We will be sending a request to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in this regard and if the Board considers favourably it will help the young boys and senior players can also utilise the opprtunity to keep themselves fit'' he said adding ''We would request BCCI for the services of even Irfan Pathan, Harbhajan Singh, Md Kaif", he added.

Earlier declaring open the 2007-08 NCA Training season open, Kapil called upon the 25 players selected by the Board to under the training, to fully utilise the opportunity to improve their field performance.

Stating that ''our own weakness was responsible for Team India's poor performance in the recently concluded World Cup", the cricket legend said that "for a player what is needed was proper application of mind and determination to perform in the field. We have the needed potential." NCA Director Shivlal Yadav, in his address, said that it was proposed to set up five Zonal Academies from this year and more than 100 U-15 players selected would undergo training.
