PAC head-constable opens fire, no casualty

Varanasi, May 1: A PAC head constable posted at the highly sensitive Gyanwapi-Kashi Vishwanath complex here accidentally opened fire, causing chaos in the complex.

Complex security sources said here this evening that Raj Kumar Sonkar, a head constable of 33rd PAC battalion posted on the Chapparia Gali post on the yellow zone of multi-tier security of the complex, accidentally fired from his gun late last night.

However, no casualty was reported, the sources added.

Departmental action has been recommended against the head constable, sources said.

In February last, a PAC constable from the same battalion had shot himself dead near the Chapparia Gali post.
