MSEDCL seeks MERC help to recover Rs 80 cr from TPC

Mumbai, May 1 (UNI) The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL) has urged the Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (MERC) to direct Tata Power Corporation (TPC) to pay up an outstanding amount of Rs 80 crore.

The MSEDCL representation to the MERC said the TPC should pay an interest at the rate of 18 per cent on the amount outstanding of January and February.

Non-payment of the MSEDCL bills, raised at its marginal cost to TPC, is adversely affecting the distributing company's finances and MSEDCL has been forced to borrow heavily, an MSEDCL statement here said.
