Bhopal, May 1 (UNI) Congress Madhya Pradesh unit Secretary and former Minister Narendra Nahata today accused the state's BJP regime of harassing Congress workers due to political vendetta.

''Buckling under pressure from the government, the district administration is sullying my image by providing erroneous information about my Mandsaur Technical Institute's property,'' he told reporters here.

Mr Nahata said that Mandsaur's then Collector Heeralal Trivedi succumbed to BJP pressure and made a ''baseless'' allegation that the Trust managed by Mr Nahata had amassed Rs 479 crore.

''The administration buckled under local MLA Om Prakash Purohit's pressure and harassed Congress workers in Mandsaur and Neemuch.

Fifteen Congress sarpanchs were jailed on trumped-up charges,'' he alleged.

Mr Nahata warned the regime of an agitation if such harassment went unchecked.
