Minister rebuts Naidu's charges on CMO
Hyderabad, May 1 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Minister for Commercial Taxes Konathala Ramakrishna today took great exception to the statement of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president N Chandrababu Naidu that the Chief Minister's Office had become a centre of 'corruption'.
In a statement, the Minister said the Opposition leader was making baseless allegations against the government and the Chief Minister's Office with ulterior motives and to malign the government which was functioning in a transparent way.
He said the government had ordered CBI inquiries into the allegations raised by the Opposition on the issues of sale of temple lands, Outer Ring Road Project, DPEP irregularities, Nadargul lands and land allocation to Raghuram Cement to prove its innocence.
He alleged that during its nine-year rule, the previous TDP Government had not ordered any inquiry into the irregularities in Liquor Rates and Yeleru land compensation.
He said Mr Naidu's allegations were only to cover up his misdeeds and corrupt practices.
