Mayawati biggest anti-dalit leader: Paswan
Bhadohi, May 1 (UNI) Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) chief and union minister Ram Vilas Paswan today flayed BSP supremo Mayawati as the ''biggest anti-dalit leader'' in the country.
''Mayawati, who claims to be the messiah of dalits has become 'daulat ki beti' (daugher of wealth),'' Mr Paswan told an election meeting here.
He claimed the former Uttar Pradesh chief minister had harmed the interests of dalits in a big way by scrapping the Dalit Act, which was aimed at checking atrocities on the community.
''Mayawati, who once used to abuse the upper castes is now trying to coax these communities for the sake of power politics,'' he claimed.
Lambasting the BJP, Mr Paswan said the party could never facilitate construction of the Lord Ram temple at Ayodhya. ''The BJP just wants to corner Hindu votes out of the vexed issue.'' Terming the ruling Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh as a 'party of goondas', the union minister reminded that incidents of loot, murder, rape and robbery had risen to unprecendented levels, while farmers were committing suicide in the state.
