Maruti Udyog Limited sales up in April '07
New Delhi, May 1: Leading passenger car manufacturer Maruti Udyog Limited (MUL) today said it sold 48,652 vehicles last month this fiscal in the Indian market as compared to 41,574 vehicles in April last year.
Both in the domestic and overseas market, Maruti sold 50,352 vehicles in the month of April '07, including 1700 units of exports, a company statement said.
Maruti's volume in the A2 segment grew by 20.3 per cent and the C segment by 21.1 per cent during the month as compared to sales in April '06, the statement said.
The sales figures for April '07 of Maruti 800 in A1 segment grew at 9.8 per cent, whereas, Omni, Versa falling in the C segment grew at 21.1 per cent and Alto, Wagon-R, Zen, Swift in the A2 segment grew at 20.3 per cent.
The sales for the A3 segment cars like Baleno, Esteem fell by 12.7 per cent making the increase in sales of total passenger cars at 17 per cent.
